Former Common name | BALB/cA-TgH(Tnc), BALB/c-TN, TNKO |
H-2 Haplotype | |
ES Cell line | TT2 [(C57BL/6NCrlj x CBA/JNCrlj)F1] |
Background strain | BALB/cAJcl |
Appearance | albino [A/A b/b c/c] |
Strain development | Developed by Dr. M. Kusakabe. Cell Biology Laboratory, Life Science Tsukuba Research Center, RIKEN in 1990's. A lacZ gene and neomycin resistant cassette was transfered into TT2 ES cells to replace the exon 2, just before the translation initiation codon of the Tnc gene. This strain was backcrossed to BALB/cA. |
Strain description | C.B6CB-Tnc<tm1Sia>. Tenascin C knock-out mice. This strain is useful for studying the biological function of extracellular matrix tenascin C in vivo, especially in the feild of tumor development, tumor metastasis, wound healing, tissue regeneration, angiogenesis, tissue interaction, etc. The tenascin C deficient congenic strains were developed successive by backcrossing into A (RBRC00007), BALB/cA (RBRC00067), C57BL/6N (RBRC00169), C3H/HeN (RBRC00110) and GRS/A (RBRC00193). |
Colony maintenance | Homozygote x HomozygoteHomozygous mutant mice are viable and fertile. |
